The annual Virginia Show will be the venue for the 2012 Aberdeen Angus Association Growvite All-Ireland Championship, which takes place on Wednesday, August 22.
The All-Ireland final carries a prize fund in excess of €4,000. The All-Ireland champion will secure a €250 cash prize, a sash, commemorative medal, veterinary products, and the prestigious All-Ireland Championship Trophy -- an eye-catching piece of silverware dating back to 1902. The runner-up will receive a €130 cash prize and veterinary products.
Judging this year's event will be Willie Robertson from the noted Nightingale Herd based at Bishampton, Pershore, Worcestershire, England.
Brendan Crowe, of Tulivin Laboratories and Univet Ireland Ltd, the sponsors of the event said that they were delighted to be continuing their sponsorship of the Growvite All-Ireland Aberdeen Angus Championship.
"We have been sponsoring this prestigious competition for 25 years and it attracts the cream of the Aberdeen Angus breed from throughout Ireland."
