Cleveland Meat Company Ltd. has been operating as Meat Wholesalers for over 35 years, selling Quality Prime British beef and Lamb to customers throughout the UK, including Smithfield Market London, and more recently has developed into a major exporter of meat to Europe.
CMC operates from a custom designed plant incorporating a modern Boning Plant with first class Chilling and Freezing facilities. The Company also provides a complete HALAL slaughtering facility.
CMC, and on site abattoir, operate to full EC specifications.
Cleveland Meat Company Ltd. ( CMC ) was established in 1973 by Mr. Michael Broad and his wife, Beryl.
Mr. Broad, who has been in the meat industry for 44 years, continues to manage and run this highly successful Meat Wholesale business.
The Company is a supplier of the finest Prime Beef, Lamb, and Sheep, with customers throughout the UK and Europe.
CMC has been supplying Smithfield Market, London, for over 30 years and more recently exporting to customers in France, Germany, Holland, Greece, and Italy.
The provision of a complete HALAL slaughtering facility at the on site abattoir has helped ensure that CMC is one of the major producers and suppliers of HALAL product in the UK.
Quality Livestock is selected and mainly sourced from throughout the North of Britain including The Scottish Borders, Yorkshire and Cumbria and is slaughtered and processed ‘in house’ and on site.
CMC take great care and pride in the welfare of its livestock and humane handling standards are of paramount importance.
CMC’s plant has been extensively expanded and upgraded in recent years bringing the facility up to the highest of EU standards and Michael and his loyal, dedicated, skilful staff work closely with the regulatory bodies to ensure that the highest standards are maintained in all fields of production.
CMC operate ‘Quality Assurance Systems’ and ‘Due Diligence’ at all levels of production.
The Company has first class chilling and freezing facilities and a state of the art boning plant ensuring that a top quality product can be produced either frozen or fresh, boneless or bone in. ( see product page ).
It is one of the strengths of CMC that it can always provide a high quality product at short notice and keep customers supplied even when product elsewhere is light.

Cleveland Meat Co. Ltd. has for many years been the principle producer and supplier of the highest quality HALAL meat to outlets in the North of England.
During recent years the Company has experienced a massive growth in the demand for HALAL products and is now one of the major suppliers of HALAL meat to butchers and outlets throughout the UK, with the added ability to export and supply it’s products to Europe.
All animals that are slaughtered are fit and healthy and are slaughtered in a clean environment by approved persons who adhere to the strict principles as required by, and in accordance with, Islamic Law.
At Cleveland Meat Co. Ltd. those persons, Mohammed Yasin, Afzaal Ahmed, and Mohammed Gulbar Manzoor conscientiously carry out their tasks to ensure that all meat is 100% HALAL.

The Company transports it’s meat in modern purpose built refrigerated vehicles which ensure that the product is transported and delivered to it’s customers in perfect condition.
